Do You Plan Your Holiday Activities?
You may have heard of the expression, “Flying by the seat of your pants.” This is more or less doing something without prior planning. Usually, at the spur of the moment, getting up and doing something. Sometimes it works better than have had planned the event. Unfortunately, at times the result is anything but favorable. You either arrive at an event late, the tickets you want are gone, the person or people you would like to attend with are busy or many other possibilities.
Since we are at the end of 2017 and 2018 is offering up a fresh start, this may be the ideal time to try the advanced planning routine. In our company, we lay out the 12 month calendar and schedule the routine events and meetings first. Then we consider the activities that we would like to repeat from the prior year an schedule those in. Certain choice dates are set aside for unknown events that may happen. If a key date is not filled, we consider alternative events and plug them in based on the event’s scheduled date.
Get busy and start planning. See if you can make 2018 the best planned year ever. It’s fun and makes you think about the possibilities before you. Why not give it a try.
